Lakki Marwat: At least six police personnel were martyred during a terrorist attack in the Lakki Marwat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday.

According to a statement by the police, the horrific incident took place within the parameters of the Dadiwala Police Station when the cops were conducting a routine patrol near a fair in the city.

The martyred personnel included four police constables, an ASI, and the driver. Dead bodies were shifted to a nearby hospital while police started search operations in the area.

In a statement, Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan strongly condemned the tragic incident. He said that such “cowardly acts” could not bring down the morale of our security forces. The provincial government will not leave the bereaved families alone in this difficult time, he added.

Taking notice of the incident, CM Mahmood sought a report of the attack.
He also conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also condemned the tragic incident. “The terrorists are the enemies of Pakistan, and every possible step will be taken to safeguard the country,” he said.

In a statement, he paid tributes to the martyred six police personnel.
He also asked the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to immediately announce a Shuhada package for the martyred police personnel.
