55 dacoits surrender to police during Katcha operation in Punjab

Punjab police conducted a grand operation, claimed a big success, against the dacoits of the Katcha area in Rojhan city. As per the District Police Officer (DPO), Dost Mohammad, a total of 55 dacoits, affiliated with Bannu and Fayyaz Dulani gang, surrendered before the police. The DPO claimed that the police destroyed several hideouts of Katcha area dacoits during the Rojhan city operation.

Last week, Sindh Rangers and police arrested 21 suspects allegedly involved in numerous criminal activities in a joint operation in the Katcha area in the province. According to the Sindh Rangers spokesman, the arrested accused persons were wanted in many cases of murder, attempted murder, robbery, and kidnapping for ransom.

The arrested accused are also involved in the murder of a teacher named Allah Rakhyo, the spokesman said and added that they were handed over to the police for legal action. According to the Rangers, the gang is involved in criminal activities in Kashmore, Tangwani, and Kandhkot. Meanwhile tow day earlier,

Police claim to have killed an alleged dacoit and injured three others during an operation against criminals in the Katcha (riverine) area where wheat harvesting season is about to begin. Rajanpur DPO Dost Muhammad said the alleged dacoits belonging to Lound and Dulani gang escaped while the police set fire to their hideouts. He said as police chased them, the dacoits opened fire on them. In the crossfire, one of the dacoits, later identified as Haider Kajala was killed and his three accomplices, including Wahab Lound, were injured.

The injured policeman was shifted to hospital for medical treatment, where his condition is said to be out of danger, a police spokesman said. The DPO said the operation against the dacoits had been relaunched in the Katcha area of Khairpur Bambili in Rujhan Mazari, on the orders of Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Usman Anwar. During the operation, he said, a large number of police personnel entered the areas where dacoits had hideouts.
