Managing Director National Distributor Dispatch Company Engineer Manzoor Ahmed said on Saturday that 500 KV grid station for Chakwal district was approved in 2016 but due to obstruction in land acquisition the project has been in limbo for six years and now Deputy Commissioner (Retd) Bilal Hashim has assured that the possession of 700 kanals of land will be handed over to the department within next ten days and the foundation stone of this grid station will be laid soon and this project will be completed in 2 to 2 and half years Provided by the government.
He was speaking at the Live From Chakwal Press Club studio. Chairman Chakwal Press Club Khawaja Babar Saleem Mahmood, President Muhammad Shafiq Malik, Secretary General Zulfiqar Mir, Khawaja Daniel Saleem, Raja Saqib Abbas and Raja Iftikhar Ahmed were also present on the occasion. MD Manzoor Ahmed further said that there is no power crisis in the country as a whole, electricity is being generated as per requirement and appropriate steps are being taken to improve power generation and its transmission.
He said that at present most of the power is nuclear plan it is being generated through IPPs while several projects for hydropower generation are also underway. In reply to another question, MD Manzoor Ahmed said that the establishment of 500 KV grid station in Chakwal district would be of great help in the development of industries.
