400m counterfeit pesticides, substandard fertilizers seized

Under special instructions of Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Ahmad Buzdar, operations are underway across the province against those who are involved in the business of counterfeit pesticides.

Spokesperson of Agriculture Department, Punjab has said that Department has seized worth of Rs 400 million counterfeit pesticides and substandard fertilizers and registered 2,300 cases against those involved in this heinous scam during last three years (2018-21).

The spokesman of Agriculture Department, Punjab further said that the mafia selling counterfeit agricultural inputs is being dealt with iron hands and those involved in this business are being punished.

Zero tolerance policy is being followed and all possible actions are being taken to eradicate this business.

In this regard, the Department of Agriculture is continuing its action against the accused at all levels on the basis of solid evidence.

The spokesperson further said that the public can lodge complaints against persons who are selling adulterated agricultural inputs through SMS / WhatsApp on 0300-2955539.
