4 kids among 5 die in roof collapse incidents

Five persons including four children died and two others sustained injuries in two incidents of roof collapse occurred in different areas of the provincial metropolis on Sunday.

According to Rescue 1122 and police, a man and his son died when roof of their dilapidated house collapsed here on Sunday.

According to rescuers, two persons died when roof of a house caved in Nishtar Colony of Kahna area.

Resultantly, the man and his son died under the debris. In formation, rescuers rushed to the scene and pulled out the bodies from under the rubble. The bodies were handed over to the family after medico-legal formalities.

In another incident that occurred in Batapur area of the provincial metropolis, three children when roof of their dilapidated house caved in during rain early in the morning.

According to Rescue 1122, the roof of a house located in Batapur village collapsed after heavy rainfall.

As a result, six-year-old Seerat, two-year-old Areeha, and two-year-old Abeeha died on the rubble while 55-year-old Safia Bibi sustained critical injuries.
Rescue officials reached the site and shifted the bodies and injured to nearby hospital.

Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar expressed deep sorrow over the death of the three minors and sought a report from the authorities concerned.

Meanwhile, two children were found dead, a day after they went missing in Sadiqabad area of Rahim Yar Khan district on Sunday.

According to police, the dead bodies of both the children identified as Habib and Mehran, both aged eight years, were found in Kander mines area

They had gone missing Saturday evening, the police said, adding the bodies have been shifted to hospital for medical examination. The police said they have launched investigation to trace the murderer (s).
