A total of 3,300 Pakistani companies joined the Dubai Chamber of Commerce in the first quarter of 2023, making Pakistan the third-largest source of new company registrations in the emirate. The increase of 59% from the first quarter of 2022 was welcomed by Pakistani Ambassador to the UAE Faisal NiazTirmizi, who said it was a reflection of the dynamism of Pakistani businesses and the growing attractiveness of the UAE as an investment destination.
“This is indeed a positive development,” Tirmizi said. “Over the past year, the number of Pakistani expatriates in the emirate has increased from about 1.6 million to 1.8 million, and this trend is likely to continue.” The Dubai Chamber of Commerce said that the 3,300 new Pakistani companies represented a wide range of sectors, including trade, manufacturing, construction, and services.
