The Counter-Terrorism Department brought down three ‘terrorists’ of a banned outfit during the wee hours of Wednesday in Balochistan.
According to the CTD spokesperson, the operation was conducted by Counter-Terrorism Department team in Zhob district on the intelligence information regarding the presence of highly wanted terrorists’.
Seeing the CTD team, the ‘terrorists’ opened fire and in an exchange of fire three of them were killed while two policemen also sustained injures.
Meanwhile, two policemen were injured in a grenade attack on a security checkpost in Quetta, police confirmed on Wednesday.
According to police officials, the attack took place in the Kechi Beg area on Saryab Road. Unknown suspects threw a grenade at the checkpost, injuring two policemen. The injured policemen were rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
Security forces rushed to the area after the attack, but the suspects had fled the scene by the time they arrived. A search operation is underway to arrest the fleeing criminals.
