Three prisoners died in a single day at Gujrat District Jail the other day.
According to the jail admin, first of these prisoners was admitted to the hospital three days ago where he breathed his last yesterday. The second prisoner suffered a heart attack and could not survive.
The third prisoner was suffering from AIDS. His health deteriorated and he died when he was being shifted to the hospital. The prisoners were identified as 18-year-old Qaiser Shah of Bhagowal, 60-year-old Amjad Pervez of Mararriyan and 50-year-old Khalid Hussain. Shah has been in the jail for a murder, while Hussain was linked to a drugs case. Gujrat District Jail Superintendent Malik Liaquat said the aforementioned prisoners were suffering from AIDS, asthma, and heart diseases and they were receiving treatment at the Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Hospital. The prisoners were identified as 18-year-old Qaiser Shah of Bhagowal, 60-year-old Amjad Pervez of Mararriyan and 50-year-old Khalid Hussain.
