Prices of commoners’ daily usable commodities have once again been skyrocketing and an overall 27 percent increase in commodities’ process has been recorded. Last year for the same period the prices of commodities were at 6.5 percent and hence an overall 17 percent increase in commodities’ prices was recorded.
According to the Statistics Bureau of Pakistan, prices of groceries, general items and greens have in last week of the current month of October were hiked up to 45 percent which included tomato, potato, onion, garlic, flour, rice, ghee, poultry, egg, fresh milk, yogurt and pulses.
Electricity, LPG, wood pieces for cooking purpose and soap prices are soared.
Of 51 basic commodities, 44 have been expensive up to 44 percent as compared to their prices last year and their prices have been increased up to 125 percent.
Prices of garlic have increased from Rs.135 per kg to Rs.259 per kg, onion prices were increased from Rs. 43 per kg to Rs. 77 per kg, Daal Maash prices were Rs. 185 with an increase of Rs.47 per kg, Rs.61 were increased to Daal Moong prices and it was rs.175 per kg. Rs. 20 were increased to the price of sugar and it is being sold at Rs. 74 per kg.
Rs.39 have been added to the ghee price and it is sold for Rs.210 per kg. Mutton is sold for Rs. 883 with increase of Rs.99 per kg. Jaggery is sold for Rs.114 with a sharp increase of Rs.30 per kg.
