248 inmates at Karachi’s Central Jail have graduated with degrees, marking a significant step in prison reform. Provincial Minister for Prisons, Works, and Services, Ali Hassan Zardari, distributed the graduation certificates during a ceremony held at the jail, attended by prison officials and the jubilant graduates.

The inmates completed a variety of courses, including IT diplomas, graphic design, and language studies, with degrees earned in Chinese, Arabic, and other global languages. These educational programs were conducted in collaboration with the Alkhidmat Foundation. Minister Ali Hassan Zardari highlighted that this initiative aligns with the vision of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and President Asif Ali Zardari to transform jails into reformative institutions.

He emphasized the goal of ending the traditional concept of prisons and turning inmates into productive members of society. “Our jails are teaching a variety of courses and skills, with inmates educating each other,” stated Zardari.

He reiterated the commitment to public service according to the party’s manifesto, aiming to integrate inmates back into society as useful citizens.
