After opening and resuming classes for students of junior classes last month, schools both the government-run and private in the federal capital are returning to normal academic activities and parents are no longer scared of sending their kids to schools.

A number of privately run schools on Thursday informed the parents there would be no virtual class on Friday (today) and they might send their kids instead to the school.

Earlier, school schedule was restricted to four days of school and one-day online or virtual class.

Similarly, the students were also divided into two groups and one group needed to attend the school for two days a week.

Friday was fixed for an online class which the students attended from home.

However in view of the National Command & Operation Centre’s decision to ease restrictions, schools have also extended the weekly schedule to five days instead of four.

Besides, students are also being allowed to play in the break time though maintaining social distance.

A teacher of a private school confirmed to Pakistan Observer her school had planned to organize a ceremony in connection with Jashn-e-Baharan and students were asked to come in white shalwar kameez and bring some fresh flowers as well.

The students are also allowed to remove their facemasks if they feel hot with rise in temperature, she further said.

One could see a large number of students and parents going to school without wearing facemasks on Thursday.

When asked, the father of a boy said he had left observing facemask as temperature was rising as well as vaccination was also picking up pace.

Islamabad on Thursday reported 231 cases of Covid-19 and with that the total number of cases have surged to 44,921.

No death was reported in the meanwhile, so far the number of recoveries in the federal capital stand at 42,419 and there is only a difference of around 2,500 between the recoveries and the infections.
