2 security men among 5 martyred in Kurram terrorist’s attack

Terrorist’s attack on a couple of vehicles in the restive Kurram tribal district on Sunday left at least five people including two security personnel and a woman martyred while four others seriously wounded.

Reports reaching here said a passenger van and a car were on their way to Peshawar from the district headquarters Parachinar when unidentified miscreants opened fire on the vehicles leaving as many as five people dead while four others received serious injuries. Those martyred include two men in uniform and a lady.

“Armed assailants opened fire on the bus and car going from Parachinar to Peshawar in the Sadda area which resulted in the deaths of five people and injuries to four others. The dead included two security personnel, a driver and a woman”. Said the District Police Officer (DPO) Kurram Muhammad Imran.

Officials said the security forces have kicked off an operation to arrest the attackers while security has been beefed up in the area. The identity of the martyred security personnel could not be ascertained. Independent sources said the target of the attackers were the security personnel.

Hardly a week back six barbers were kidnapped and murdered after which their bodies were dumped in a field in Mir Ali tehsil in North Waziristan tribal district.
Local and official sources said that the bullet-riddled bodies of six men were found in the field in Muski village located in Mir Ali Tehsil adding the initial investigation suggested that the victims had been shot dead after being kidnapped.

The slain persons, the sources added, were all barbers running barber shops in Mir Ali Bazaar. They were stated to be non-locals and had recently shifted to North Waziristan tribal district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
