BANNU – A 17-year-old boy was allegedly shot dead by a man after refusing his offer of friendship in Bannu, the police said on Thursday.
The police said that he incident took place near Phoori Gate, where the suspect allegedly opened fire on the teenager and killed him.
Police said the suspect wanted to befriend the 17-year-old, but the teenager refused. Following the refusal, the suspect allegedly shot him and fled the scene.
After receiving information about the incident, police reached the spot and took the victim’s body into custody. It was later shifted to a hospital for a post-mortem examination.
The police said raids were being conducted at different locations to arrest the suspect, while further investigation into the incident was underway.
Earlier, a 15-year-old boy, the only brother of eight sisters, was shot dead when armed robbers opened fire during a house robbery in Manghopir, Karachi.
The police identified the deceased as Rosham, a matriculation student.
According to his father, Roiudad Hussain, six armed robbers entered their house to carry out the robbery. He said two of the suspects were wearing police uniforms.
Hussain said he came out of his room after hearing the robbers, while his son also emerged from another room. The suspects allegedly opened fire as the family members came out.
He said a bullet struck Rosham in the chest, killing him on the spot.
The teenager was the only brother of eight sisters, making his death particularly devastating for the family.
