1,609 closed schools made functional across Sindh: Ghani

Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani has said that 1,609 closed schools have been reopened across Sindh by appointing teachers from different schools.

A high-level meeting of Sindh Education Department was held here on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Education Minister in which the ongoing development schemes in the education department were reviewed.

If the Corona spread rises, the decision to open schools may change, said Saeed Ghani

Addressing the meeting, Saeed Ghani said that the schools which were closed in the province have been made functional by the education department.

He said that another 638 schools would be reopened in the next few days, through which 2,247 closed schools in Sindh would be reopened.

1st to 8th grade teaching process will be suspended till May 1, said Saeed Ghani

The minister added that the repair and provision of necessities for the schools to be opened is the first priority.

He also said that efforts should be made to complete all the schemes of this year on time and the schemes should be included in the new annual development program after conducting a comprehensive survey.
