“Over the course of the entire year, 1,511 people have died, 3,726 people have been injured, and 33,822 houses have been fully or partially demolished,” said Sharafuddin Muslim, Deputy Minister of Disaster Management.

Officials of the ministry added that the construction of homes for those families who have been affected by the recent earthquake has begun, except in the Gayian district of Paktika.

“The normal budget for the first three months of the year 1400 is 43,565,970 Afghani,” he stated.

According to the Ministry of Disaster Management, this year’s normal budget will total more than 150 million Afghani, but the deputy minister said this amount will not be sufficient to address all of the nation’s needs.
