As many as 100 girls have completed training at Governor Punjab wife, Perveen Sarwar’s Hunar Gah Centre established in collaboration with TEVTA at Lahore College for Women University. Begum Perveen Sarwar also announced setting up Hunar Gah centers in other educational institutions of Punjab including Lahore and other cities.
Governor Punjab’s wife was guest of honour at Lahore College for Women University Lahore while Vice Chancellor Lahore College for Women University Prof. Dr. Bushra Mirza, Head of HunarGah Lahore College for Women University Yasmin Maan, and representatives of TEVTA along with others were also present on the occasion.
Addressing the participants of event, Begum Perveen Sarwar, said that under HunarGah, more than 100 centers are working in Lahore along with other cities of Punjab. Under these centers, we have so far provided free training including beautician, sewing and other skills in various fields to 22,000 women.
She said that HunarGah centers are also functioning in all the jails of Punjab and now we have decided that HunarGah centers will also be set up in other cities of Punjab whereas a HunarGah centre for transgender community is also being set up. In these centers, free courses would be offered to girls including students so that they can also get employment.
