Islamabad Police have arrested 10 outlaws during in its crackdown against criminal elements and recovered a stolen car, narcotics, wine and weapons from them, a police spokesman said on Saturday.
Following directions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Muhammad Aamir Zulfqar Khan, Deputy Inspector General of Police (Operations) Waqar Ud Din Syed issued directions to all zonal officers for renewed efforts against those involved in anti-social activities.
Owing these efforts, SP (Saddar) Sarfraz Ahmed Virk constituted police team under the supervision of ASP Rana Abdul Wahab including Station House Officer Sub-Inspector Sulman Shah along with others arrested a bootleggers namely Arab Khan and recovered 25 liters alcohol from him, while police team arrested a car lifter namely Murad Arshad s/o Arshad Mehmood resident of Rawalpindi and recovered stolen car from him and further investigation is underway from him.
Sabzi Mandi police apprehended two drug peddlers namely Waris khan and Sajjad Ali and recovered 1.275 kilogram hashish from their possession.
Shehzad Town police arrested two accused Basit Ali and Khaliq Akhter and recovered two 30 bore pistols from their possession.
CIA police arrested two accused Zahid Khan and Imran and recovered two 30 bore pistols from their possession.
Lohibher police arrested accused Zeshan and recovered one wine bottle from him. Cases have been registered against these nabbed persons and further investigation is underway from them
DIG (Operations) Islamabad Waqar Uddin Syed has said that these social evils would be curbed and those backing those drug peddlers and professional beggars would be dealt with iron hand. He further emphasized that this campaign would continue till elimination of anti-social elements.
