Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians President and PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari arrived in Lahore after a two-day visit to Quetta, the sources said on Friday.
“The former president will meet the PPP South Punjab and Lahore leaders,” said the sources, pointing out that the future course of action of the party in Punjab regarding the upcoming elections would be his main agenda. Zardari, they said, would also consult his party leaders regarding the candidates and their selection in Punjab.
“It is also expected that several leaders will meet the co-chairman and will announce their joining with the party,” they said. According to the sources, Zardari is likely to stay in Lahore for three days, and during this period, he would take part in the wedding of party leader Mehreen Anwar Raja’s son. The sources also added that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and PPPP Secretary General Nayyar Hussain would also reach Lahore late night on Friday. The PPP top leadership would hold deliberations over policies and strategies to run effective election campaigns and to select the potential candidates ahead of the elections.
