Weather update for Lahore, Punjab; light rain predicted

LAHORE – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted more rains for Lahore and parts of Punjab on Friday night and Saturday.

As per the synoptic situation, a weak westerly wave prevails over upper parts of Pakistan. It will likely persist during the next 12 hours.

Under these conditions, light rain-wind/thunderstorms are expected in Sargodha, Faisalabad, Lahore, Gujranwala, Layyah, Bhakkar, Potohar region and Dera Ghazi Khan on Friday night and Saturday. Partly cloudy weather with light rain-wind/thunderstorm is also expected in Murree, Galyat and surrounding areas.

Lahore’s maximum temperatures will likely remain between 29-31 degrees Celsius on Saturday and Sunday.

Meanwhile, parts of Punjab including Lahore received rainfall of varying intensities during the last 24 hours. Dry weather prevailed elsewhere in the province.

Bahawalpur remained the hottest place in the province where temperature reached 33 C. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 46 per cent.

In Lahore, maximum temperature was recorded at 30 C. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 46 per cent.
