DUBAI – The nationals and residents of the UAE are required to obtain the B2 visit visa if they are planning to explore the United States of America as a tourist.
Visitor visas are nonimmigrant visas for persons who want to enter the United States temporarily for business (B-1 visa), for tourism (B-2 visa), or for a combination of both purposes (B-1/B-2 visa).
Residents in Dubai planning to visit the United States are advised to start their visa process early due to varying appointment wait times based on location and season. The B2 visa application requires completing the DS-160 form online, uploading a compliant passport photo, and scheduling an interview at the U.S. Embassy or Consulate.
Visa Interview Requirements
Applicants aged 14 to 79 are generally required to attend an interview.
Those13 and younger, or 80 and older, are usually exempt unless otherwise requested by consular officers.
Required Documents
Applicants must prepare the necessary documentation, including a passport valid for at least six months beyond the intended stay, the DS-160 confirmation page, and the application fee payment receipt. If the online photo upload fails, a printed photo that meets official requirements must be brought to the interview.
In some cases, additional documents may be requested to verify the purpose of the trip, the applicant’s intent to return, and ability to finance the travel.
Supporting evidence such as employment letters, family ties, or financial sponsorship documents may be necessary.
US Tourist Visa Application fee
As of now, applicants must pay a non-refundable visa application fee of $185 when applying for the B2 visa, which allows individuals to travel temporarily to the United States for tourism.
