US Congresswoman Illhan honours Pakistan’s top singer Atif Aslam

Pakistani’s celebrated singer Atif Aslam is again in headlines after he got international recognition by US Congresswoman Illhan Umar.

Umar, one of the first two Muslim women to serve in US congress, took to Instagram to announce that she is taking over Spotify to honor Muslim artists from around the world.

She wrote: “Taking over Spotify this week. Check out my first playlist of Muslim artists and comment below who is on your playlist”.

Later, she dropped a comment under her post, tagging it to a slew of artists including the most acclaimed singer of Pakistan, Atif Aslam.

She also tagged the Pakistani actor and rapper, Riz Ahmed along with including the celebrated Sami Yusuf.

It is not clear if the U.S. representative is an ardent Atif Aslam’s fan and if she loves grooving to the famously admired ‘Aadat’, nevertheless the Pakistani fans are over the moon seeing their favorite singer making it to an international fan base.
