ISLAMABAD – US Central Command (Centcom) Commander General Michael Kurilla Applauded Pakistan’s efforts against militant organizations.
American general praised Islamabad as a key partner in the global fight against terrorism. He shared views before the US House Armed Services Committee, and hailed ongoing operations against militant groups, especially the Daeesh Khorasan chapter.
He noted Islambad’s recent success in capturing several high-ranking militants including Kabul airport bombing mastermind Sharifullah.
General said Pakistan captured at least five high-value IS-K figures with minimal US intelligence assistance, saying IS-K militants had been eliminated through Pakistan’s independent efforts. He further praised Islamabad’s role as phenomenal in the global counter-terrorism landscape.
15th commander of United States Central Command pointed out the alarming number of terrorist incidents — more than 1,000 — that have occurred in western Pakistan after the return of militants.
He made these remarks after a bilateral counter-terrorism dialogue held in US capital last month, where Islamabad and Washington reaffirmed their dedication to combating threats posed by groups like TTP and other outfits. General further stressed maintaining balanced relations with both archrivals Pakistan and India.
