The MoU was signed during an online meeting between the two sides. Besides the Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr Aslam, Registrar UG Dolat Khan and Sagheer Ahmed from the Department of Management Science attended the meeting.

While serving as the founding VC of UoT, Dr. Sabir had conceived the idea of establishment of a sub-campus of UoT in Gwadar in 2015.

Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan notified the sub-campus of UoT in Gwadar in July 2016 while academic activities were started in January 2017 on the campus.—INP
