Unique School, Cyan, Lasani Pizza among 61 sealed in Lahore

LAHORE—The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) sealed 61 illegal commercial buildings and premises that defaulted on commercialisation fees in LDA-controlled areas and various housing schemes on Wednesday.

LDA’s Town Planning Wing sealed 26 buildings in the Township, 15 in Gulberg and Model Town Extension, and 10 each in Mustafa Town and on Shalimar Link Road during operations against illegal commercial use and nonpayment of commercialisation fees.

The sealed premises include Unique School, Cyan Men’s Wear, Lasani Burger & Pizza, Wazir Hospital, Healthcare Pharmacy, grocery stores, workshops, food outlets, offices, and other businesses.

LDA Chief Town Planner I, Assad-uz-Zaman, and Chief Town Planner II, Azhar Ali, supervised the operations carried out by the enforcement teams, assisted by the Police.

According to the LDA spokesperson, several notices were served on the owners of these buildings before the operations were carried out.

LDA Director General Tahir Farooq has directed the continuation of indiscriminate operations against illegal commercial buildings and non-payment of commercialisation fees in housing schemes and LDA-controlled areas.
