DUBAI – Two humanoid robots have been “married” in an unusual ceremony in the United Arab Emirates, attracting attention on social media.
According to Emirati media reports, an AI-powered humanoid robot named Bo Sunaidah held a wedding ceremony with another humanoid robot, Moza, on August 1.
Bo Sunaidah has gained popularity online as an Emirati-style humanoid robot and is often depicted wearing traditional local attire. Its creators say the machine is based on the Unitree G1 humanoid robot, which was developed primarily for research and robotics applications.
Following the ceremony, Bo Sunaidah shared footage of the event on Instagram and expressed excitement about the occasion, describing Moza as the “most beautiful robot.”
The video shows Bo Sunaidah dressed in traditional Emirati clothing and performing a traditional dance during the ceremony. Moza was shown wearing an abaya and headscarf.
The unusual event has attracted widespread interest online, highlighting the growing public fascination with humanoid robots and artificial intelligence.
The ceremony was presented as a symbolic wedding rather than a legally recognised marriage, with both participants being robotic machines.
The event comes as the UAE continues to expand its focus on artificial intelligence, robotics and emerging technologies, while humanoid robots are increasingly being showcased in entertainment, research and public demonstrations.
