ISLAMABAD – Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has recommended a reduction in gas prices for consumers across Pakistan.
The move could lower bills by 3percent in Islamabad, Punjab, and KP, while consumers in Sindh and Balochistan may see cuts of up to 8%.
The new average gas prices have been set at Rs1,804.08 per MMBTU for Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) and Rs1,549.41 per MMBTU for Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC). OGRA adjusted Rs13.565 billion for SNGPL and Rs47.315 billion for SSGC to ensure financial balance while benefiting consumers.
The recommendations have been sent to the federal government, which will make the final decision. Until then, current gas prices will remain in effect.
