Strengthening bonds: Shehbaz in Malaysia

AT the invitation of the Prime Minister of Malaysia, H.E. Anwar Ibrahim, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, arrived in Kuala Lumpur on a three-day official visit.

Upon his arrival at the airport, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was accorded a red-carpet welcome.

Later, at the Malaysian Prime Minister’s Office (Perdana Putra) in Putrajaya, he was warmly received by his Malaysian counterpart, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. A formal Guard of Honour presented by the distinguished Malaysian Armed Forces underscored the deep-rooted Pakistan–Malaysia brotherhood and the enduring strength of their diplomatic ties. The grand official ceremony marked the beginning of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit (5–7 October 2025) to the brotherly nation of Malaysia — a visit aimed at further deepening bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors of shared importance, including:

Trade and Investment, Information Technology (IT) and the Digital Economy, Education and Skill Development, Energy and Infrastructure and People-to-People Relations Pakistan and Malaysia enjoy a historic relationship founded on mutual respect, shared faith and common aspirations for peace and prosperity in the Muslim world. Over the years, the two countries have expanded collaboration in trade, defence, education, and technology, fostering a partnership that continues to flourish. Their active engagement through the OIC and other international platforms reflects a joint commitment to promoting the interests of the developing world. The Pakistan–Malaysia relationship stands as a shining example of brotherly friendship, mutual trust, and strategic cooperation.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif’s visit is expected to further reinforce the shared resolve of both nations to enhance economic, strategic, technological, educational, and cultural ties — paving the way for greater mutual progress and prosperity.
