LAHORE – Former Pakistan Captain Shoaib Malik was gearing up to join the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), the sources said on Thursday.

Shoaib Malik will join the Fortune Barishal on February 2 and will also play a match against the Chattogram Challengers on February 3.

According to the latest reports, Shoaib Malik had gone to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for personal commitments, informing Captain Tamim Iqbal. Shoaib Malik informed Tamim Iqbal that he would return if necessary from his UAE tour.

Captain Tamim Iqbal asked Shoaib Malik for re-joining.

Shoaib Malik, however, discussed batting at number four instead of six but the matter now settled as he would bat at number four for Barishal.

Shoaib Malik took a break from the Bangladesh League, showing confidence in management. During the break, Shoaib Malik participated in the commitment by wearing his shoes. It should be noted that Shoaib Malik had left the BPL last week and had gone to Dubai from Dhaka for personal commitments. After leaving Shoaib Malik’s team, he was accused of being involved in fixing. However, Fortune Barishal and Shoaib Malik denied the allegations.
