Senator Vawda Distributes Sweets Ahead Of 27th Amendment Approval

ISLAMABAD –  Ahead of the anticipated approval of the 27th Constitutional Amendment, Senator Faisal Vawda arrived at Parliament House carrying a basket of sweets, which he distributed among journalists gathered outside to mark the occasion.

Speaking to the media, Vawda said he had come to celebrate “in advance,” remarking, “In a job, there’s no room for attitude — we have to further strengthen our defense line. Whatever is happening is part of a broader plan. What applies to this president will also apply to future ones. Enjoy the sweets for the 27th Amendment and prepare for the 28th.”

Earlier, Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif said the government had the required votes to ensure the amendment’s passage.

Talking to reporters inside the Parliament House, he noted that members must be physically present to cast their votes, expressing confidence that the ruling alliance had sufficient strength for approval.

Responding to a question, Asif confirmed that Senator Irfan Siddiqui could not attend the session due to illness but expressed optimism that the Senate would pass the 27th Constitutional Amendment later in the day.
