Bishop Abraham Azeem Daniel engaged in discussions with Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, Chairman Senate of Pakistan, focusing on Pakistan’s increasing efforts to promote global peace and interfaith harmony.

The talks highlighted Pakistan’s commitment to fostering religious tolerance and peaceful coexistence, both domestically and internationally. Bishop Daniel praised Chairman Gilani for his proactive role in advancing interfaith dialogue, particularly acknowledging his recent historic visit to the Vatican.

During visit, former PM Gilani met with Vatican officials to express Pakistan’s dedication to building bridges across religious and cultural divides.

Chairman Gilani emphasized the vital role religious minorities play in Pakistan’s social fabric and assured continued government efforts to protect their rights. He shared valuable insights from his Vatican visit, which centered around peacebuilding initiatives and mutual respect between Muslim and Christian communities.

“The visit to the Vatican was not just symbolic,” he said, adding that Pakistan is committed to making dialogue and peace the cornerstone of international relations.

Bishop Daniel expressed optimism that such high-level engagements would pave the way for deeper collaboration between Pakistan’s religious communities and global institutions. He further highlighted importance of empowering youth from all faiths to serve as ambassadors of peace and harmony.

The meeting concluded with a unanimous pledge to promote Pakistan’s message of peace, unity, and coexistence on the global stage.

Among those present were Peer Imran Shah (Federal Minister), Amjad Bukhari, William Daniel, Amjad Saleemi (Ex-IG Punjab), Nehr Ghulam Fareed Kathia (Ex-Federal Minister), and Malik Qasim Nadeem (MPA).
