At Least Three Fc Personnel Martyred 17 Injured In Hangu Attack

Security forces have killed the mastermind behind the July 30 terrorist attack on a police checkpost in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Hangu district.

According to security sources, the militant, identified as Amir Mauviya, was killed during an intelligence-based operation conducted in the Chapri Naryab area of Hangu.

The sources said Mauviya held a senior position within Fitna-al-Khawarij in Kurram and was wanted in connection with multiple terrorism-related cases.

Officials added that counterterrorism operations have been stepped up under Operation 11 Garaj to target militant networks in the region.

The July 30 assault on the Khazina Banda police checkpost claimed the lives of nine police personnel, including a deputy superintendent of police (DSP), while 28 others sustained injuries. Police said security personnel engaged the attackers in a fierce gun battle, killing 15 militants during the retaliatory operation.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has witnessed a continued surge in militant attacks targeting security forces and law enforcement agencies in recent months.
