RIYADH – Saudi Arabia has announced a fresh US$90 million grant to support the Palestinian treasury, marking another addition to the Kingdom’s ongoing financial assistance to the Palestinian Authority during 2025.
The grant was formally handed over in Amman, where Palestinian Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Istifan Salameh met with Saudi Ambassador to Jordan and non-resident Commissioner to the State of Palestine, Prince Mansour bin Khalid bin Farhan Al Saud, at the Saudi Embassy.
Officials said the latest assistance aims to help stabilise the Palestinian economy amid worsening financial pressures.
In a statement, Palestinian Authority Vice President Hussein Al-Sheikh welcomed the Saudi support, noting that the grant would reinforce financial stability at a time when the Palestinian people are facing some of the most difficult economic conditions in recent years.
He lauded the Kingdom’s “consistent and unwavering” support for Palestinian rights, calling the gesture an important contribution to sustaining essential government functions.
Saudi Ambassador Prince Mansour bin Khalid reaffirmed that the Kingdom remains committed to its historical position of supporting the legitimate rights of Palestinians and their aspiration for an independent state.
He said the financial assistance will help the Palestinian government meet its obligations and reduce public hardships, particularly in key sectors including health, education, and basic services.
The officials added that Saudi Arabia continued to coordinate closely with regional partners to ensure sustained economic and humanitarian assistance to the Palestinian people.
The latest grant is expected to be disbursed to priority development and service sectors identified by the Palestinian Authority.
