KARACHI – The Sindh government has abolished the Saturday weekly holiday for all public and private educational institutions, with the decision taking effect from August 1, 2026
The provincial government has issued a notification stating that all schools will restore Saturday classes.
According to the notification, schools and colleges across the province will hold academic activities from Monday to Saturday, with the new schedule coming into effect from August 1.
Under the revised arrangement, both public and private educational institutions will continue teaching activities for six days a week instead of the previous schedule.
The Education Department directed institutions to implement the updated timetable and ensure regular classes from Monday through Saturday.
The decision aims to resume the six-day academic routine across Punjab’s educational institutions following the issuance of official orders.
The Sindh government had announced summer vacations for all public and private schools from June 1 to July 31, 2026. According to the official schedule, regular academic activities for the 2026-27 school year are expected to resume from August 1, 2026.
