Saboor Aly Explains Why She Sends 18 Month Old Daughter To Preschool

LAHORE – Pakistani actress Saboor Aly on Tuesday explained why she decided to enrol her 18-month-old daughter, Serena, in preschool.

Actress Saboor Aly revealed that her daughter currently attends preschool for only 15 to 20 minutes, where she plays and interacts with other children before returning home.

She made this disclosure while speaking during an appearance on a programme of a local private TV.

Aly said the short school routine was helping Serena develop her social skills and become more comfortable interacting with people outside her immediate family.

She explained that it was also important for her daughter to spend some time away from her parents so that she could gradually learn how to manage without them and understand how to behave around others.

Recalling Serena’s first day at school, the actress said it was the only occasion when her daughter cried extensively. Aly said she felt embarrassed because no other child at the school was crying at the time.

Despite being a social child, Serena initially found the experience difficult. However, Aly said her daughter has now become so comfortable with school that she does not want to leave when it is time to return home.

A video of the actress’s interview has since gained traction on social media after which the social media users made interesting comments.

Some criticised the decision to send a child to preschool at such a young age, arguing that children should be allowed to enjoy their early childhood without academic pressure. Others defended the actress and said early social interaction could help children develop confidence and communication skills.
