Record Breaking Bids At Cda Auction As Investors Pour Billions Into Capital

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan’s federal capital Islamabad witnessed a real estate spectacle as the Capital Development Authority (CDA) held a high-profile auction of residential and commercial plots, drawing massive investor interest and generating Rs13.52 billion on the very first day.

The spotlight remained firmly on Blue Area, Islamabad’s prime commercial hub, where record-breaking bids stunned onlookers. Plot No. 15 (F-8/G-8) was auctioned for staggering Rs3.52 billion, while Plot No. 17 (F-8/G-8) smashed expectations by fetching an astonishing Rs9.15 billion, underlining the soaring demand for premium commercial real estate in the capital.

Adding to momentum, plots under Orchard Scheme on Murree Road attracted strong bids. Plot No. C-37 was sold for Rs. 422 million, while Plot No. D-37 went under the hammer for Rs. 420 million, reflecting robust investor confidence across multiple locations.

The 3-day auction, being held at Jinnah Convention Centre, will continue until 24 December, featuring wide range of residential and commercial plots offered for investment. The auction includes highly sought-after properties from various sectors, including E-11 Northern Strip, agro farms, petrol pump plots, and even constructed commercial shops in Blue Area. Residential plots from different sectors are also part of the auction lineup, making it one of the most comprehensive CDA auctions in recent years.

CDA’s investor-friendly policies played key role in attracting overwhelming participation. To incentivize investors, the authority announced 5% additional discount on commercial plots for payments made in US dollars. Another 5% discount is being offered on full lump-sum payment within 30 days of bid approval. Investors can also benefit from early development facilitation, as building plan approval is granted after 25% payment, while possession of the plot can be obtained upon 75% payment.

Chairman CDA said all received bids will undergo thorough scrutiny before being presented to CDA Board, the sole authority empowered to approve or reject the bids. He stressed that revenue generated from auction will be utilized for the development, infrastructure uplift, and beautification of Islamabad, further strengthening the capital’s status as a modern and investment-friendly city.
