The Capital Development Authority (CDA) administration is conducting a vigorous operation against the illegal housing societies in Zone Four of Islamabad.

Under the ongoing operation, the offices made for the management and publicity of the illegal societies are being sealed. In this regard, the administrative offices of the illegal housing scheme Rawal Enclave have been sealed, said a handout of the CDA.

According to the statement, it should be noted that action was taken against the illegal housing scheme Rawal Enclave for illegally buying and selling plots in violation of the provisions of Capital Development Authority Ordinance 1960, ICT Zoning Regulation 1992 and ICT Building Control Regulation 2020.

In this regard, the CDA management has repeatedly warned the public through newspaper advertisements to avoid buying plots in illegal housing schemes and to ensure before investing that the sponsor of the society has obtained NOC from CDA after fulfilling the conditions. In this regard, citizens can also check the latest status of housing societies and details of approved layout plans from the website of Capital Development Authority (CDA) www.cda.gov.pk

Apart from this, legal action under CDA Ordinance MLR 63, MLR 82, Environmental Protection 2008 including Landscape Ordinance 5/4 should also be taken against the owners of illegal housing societies by the administration of Capital Development Authority. Moreover,The Water Management Wing of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has intensified its efforts on several projects to mitigate water shortages in the federal capital before the onset of the summer season.

“The authority has instructed the relevant departments to expedite all repair and maintenance work, addressing issues such as leakages and replacing old and rotted pipes at the Simly Water Filtration Plant and Main Distribution Line,” an official told APP

He said that timely repairs and maintenance by the Water Supply Wing had not only saved eight lakh gallons of water per day but also improved water pressure in the pipelines.
