LAHORE – Lahore Qalandars beat Quetta Gladiators by six wickets in the last-over thriller at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium on Sunday to clinch the PSL X title.
Chasing a challenging 202-run target for victory in the final, Qalandars crossed the finish line on the penultimate ball of the last over with six wickets to spare.
Player of the final, Kusal Perera, was the highest scorer with an unbeaten 62 runs, followed by Mohammad Naeem, who contributed 46. Abdullah Shafique made 41, Sikandar Raza 22 not out, Bhanuka Rajapaksa 14, and Fakhar Zaman 11 runs. Abrar Ahmed, Mohammad Amir, Usman Tariq and Faheem Ashraf took one wicket each.
After winning the toss and opting to bat first, Gladiators reached 201/9 in the allocated 20 overs despite losing openers Saud Shakeel (4) and Finn Allen (12) early.
Hasan Nawaz was the top scorer for Gladiators with 76 runs, followed by Avishka Fernando, who made 29. Faheem Ashraf contributed valuable 28 runs, and Rilee Rossouw and Dinesh Chandimal 22 runs each. Skipper Shaheen Shah Afridi bagged three wickets, Salman Mirza and Haris Rauf two each, while Sikandar Raza and Rishad Hossain got one wicket each.
