The PDMA said no deaths were reported due to monsoon rains in Punjab during the last 24 hours. However, 54 people have died and 341 others sustained injuries in rain-related incidents across the province during the current monsoon season.
The authority said the injured are being provided medical treatment under the Punjab government’s directives, while families affected by monsoon rains and other natural disasters will receive compensation and relief.

DG PDMA Muhammad Saif Anwar Jappa said rivers, dams and barrages across Punjab are being monitored continuously, with all concerned departments kept on alert.
According to the fact sheet, low-level flooding has been reported at Head Marala on the Chenab River and at Kalabagh, Chashma and Taunsa on the Indus River. The PDMA advised citizens to avoid storm drains, rivers, canals and low-lying areas during rainfall. Parents were also urged to keep children away from waterways and never allow them to bathe in drains, rivers or canals.
The authority said its control room is monitoring the situation across Punjab around the clock and remains in contact with relevant institutions to respond to any emergency.
