PTA Alert: Young Pakistanis targeted by Fake Job Scams on Social Media

Pta Alert Young Pakistanis Targeted By Fake Job Scams On Social Media

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) issued stern warning for job seekers as Scammers are exploiting social media platforms to trick unsuspecting citizens with “too good to be true” job offers.

In its advisory, PTA warned of fraudsters who post fake advertisements promising high salaries, comfortable working hours, and other opportunities. But behind these offers lies a sinister motive: stealing money, personal data, and sensitive information.

“Scammers posing as recruitment agents collect photos, locations, and personal details under the guise of surveys and research. This information can be misused against our citizens and country,” PTA officials revealed.

If you are looking for Job, make sure it offers that seems unrealistically attractive. Recruiters who insist on WhatsApp-only communication are said to be red-flag.

Requests for ID numbers, home addresses, or personal photos are other signs to stay alert while demands to download apps or share your location can land you in real trouble.

PTA urges citizens to verify every job advertisement by visiting the company’s official website, checking verified emails, or contacting HR departments directly. Never share personal information with unverified sources, and report suspicious ads immediately.
