Rilee Rossouw, Ihsanullah star as Multan Sultans thrash Quetta Gladiators in PSL8 fixture

MULTAN – Multan Sultan’s young gun Ihsanullah went on a rampage as he thrashed Quetta Gladiators batters and then power-hitter Rilee Rossouw helped his side get the first win with an unbeaten 78-run knock.

Multan Sultans bagged the victory in the 14th over as Rilee Rossouw hit huge shots, finishing being top-performer with a powerful knock of 78. Star player Shan Masood returned on the first delivery after scoring 3.

Captain and flamboyant batter Mohammad Rizwan stitched a good partnership with Rossouw. The Proteas star scored 78 off just 42 deliveries, courtesy of nine boundaries and three sixes, and the skipper remained unbeaten.

On the other hand, Right-arm medium-fast Nuwan Thusara remained the only bowler to get a scalp for the touring side.

Two other Sultans players Sameen Gul and Abbas Afridi bring their A-game. Gul struck in his first over as aggressive batter Martin Guptill was sent packing by him after scoring seven. Abdul Wahid Bangalzai was then outfoxed.

Home side Multan Sultans won the toss and elected to bowl first in the third game of the Pakistan Super League against Quetta Gladiators.

Taking hold in the first game of the season, Gladiators Jason Roy and Martin Guptill stitched nine runs in the first over but Sameen Gul outfoxed Guptill for seven runs.

Young gun Abdul Wahid Bangalzai failed for any big show as he made a mere 1 run to Quetta’s total before Abbas Afridi dismissed him. Skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed then returned after scoring 2 runs and their team lost three wickets for 37 runs.
