Pm Shehbaz Cdf Munir Meet Vance Ahead Of Us Iran Talks In Burgenstock

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met US Vice President JD Vance ahead of the high-level US–Iran talks scheduled for Sunday in Bürgenstock, Switzerland.

The meeting comes ahead of what is expected to be the first formal engagement between Washington and Tehran following the signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.

Senior figures, including Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir, US presidential adviser Steve Witkoff, and Jared Kushner, were also present during the interactions. Field Marshal Munir warmly greeted Witkoff and Kushner, while PM Shehbaz discussed the agenda for the upcoming negotiations under the framework of the Islamabad MoU.

PM Shehbaz and Field Marshal Asim Munir are also expected to meet an Iranian delegation led by Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf ahead of the formal dialogue.

Iran has already indicated that the situation in Lebanon and the issue of frozen assets will be among the key priorities in the talks.
