Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa weather: Rain expected in upper districts

Intermittent rain with snowfall is expected in the upper districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday night and Tuesday.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a westerly wave prevails over the northern parts of Pakistan.

Under these conditions, cold and dry weather is expected in Peshawar and most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday night and Tuesday. However, cloudy weather with light rain and snowfall is expected in Chitral, Swat, Dir, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Kalam and surrounding areas.

Peshawar’s minimum temperature will likely remain between 05°C and 07°C on Tuesday, between 06°C and 08°C on Wednesday, and between 07°C and 09°C on Thursday.

Meanwhile, cold and dry weather prevailed in Peshawar and most parts and freezing weather in the upper districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the last 24 hours. However, light rain with snowfall occurred at isolated places in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Moderate fog prevailed in the plains of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Parachinar remained the coldest place in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where the temperature dropped 04°C below the freezing point. Minimum temperature in Dir and Malam Jabba was recorded at -01°C, and in Abbotabad and Saidu Sharif at 02°C.

In Peshawar, the minimum temperature was recorded at 06°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 53 per cent.
