Widespread intermittent rain is likely in Peshawar and most parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday and Friday.
Heavy snowfall is also likely in the upper districts of the province during the wet spell.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a strong westerly wave is expected to approach the western parts of Pakistan tonight and may grip most parts of the country tomorrow.
Under these conditions, mainly cloudy weather with rain-wind/thunderstorm/snow is expected in Chitral, Swat, Dir, Kohistan, Shangla, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Buner, Khyber, Bajaur, Kurram and Waziristan on Wednesday night. Partly cloudy/cold weather is expected elsewhere in the province.
On Thursday and Friday, widespread intermittent rain-wind/thunderstorm/snow is expected in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Kohistan, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Buner, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Peshawar, Charsadda, Swabi, Nowshera, Kohat, Kurram, Tank, Waziristan, Karak, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan and Lakki Marwat.
Heavy snowfall is expected in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kalam, Shangla, Kohistan, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, and Galiyat. Heavy snowfall may cause road closures/ slippery conditions in Naran, Kaghan, Dir, Swat, Kalam, Chitral, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Shangla, and Galiyat.
There are possibilities of landslides/avalanches in the hilly areas of Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Tourists are advised to remain extra cautious and avoid unnecessary travel during the forecast period.
Peshawar’s minimum temperature will likely remain between 06°C and 08°C on Thursday, between 07°C and 09°C on Friday, and between 08°C and 10°C on Saturday.
Meanwhile, cold and dry weather prevailed in Peshawar and most parts of the province, while very cold/partly cloudy in hilly areas during the last 24 hours. However, rain/snow occurred at isolated places in the upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Parachinar remained the coldest place in the province, where the temperature dropped 05°C below the freezing point. Minimum temperature in Malam Jabba was recorded at -04°C, in Dir at 0°C and in Chitral at 01°C.
In Peshawar, the minimum temperature was recorded at 07°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 35 per cent.
