The crash comes just a day after gold had surged by Rs13,300 per tola on Monday to reach Rs563,862, raising hopes of a sustained rally. But the optimism was short-lived. Global gold prices plunged by $139, dragging the international rate down to $5,272 per ounce, including a $20 premium.

Market analysts point to volatile global demand and shifting economic conditions as key drivers behind the turbulence, warning that uncertainty continues to loom large over precious metals. For investors, the latest plunge serves as a stark reminder of just how quickly fortunes can change in the bullion market.
