Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir strongly condemned the arrest of religious pious in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) under draconian law PSA.

In a statement issued here on Friday, Chairman Pasban-e-Hurriyat Uzair Ahmad Ghazali has said that the arrest of Maulana Abdul Rasheed Daoodi, Maulana Mushtaq Ahmed Veeri, Maulana Abdul Majeed Madni, Maulana Moin-ul-Islam Nadvi and Maulana Faheem Muhammad Ramadan is the worst colonial example of Indian rulers.

While expressing outrage over the arrests of important scholars of all schools of thoughts, he said, “The tyrannical government is trying all imperialist tactics to silence every voice raised for freedom, self-determination, rights and justice in the state with force, brutality and terrorism.”

He maintained that freedom-loving leadership and activists including leaders of various parties, scholars, lawyers and business leaders, journalists and intellectuals have been imprisoned in jails in fake and fabricated cases during previous 5 years. —INP
