Pakistan Opens Doors To Poland In Energy Mining And It Sectors

ISLAMABAD – PM Shehbaz Sharif extended a major invitation to Polish companies, urging them to invest in Pakistan’s booming energy, mining, and IT sectors. The gathering saw top officials including Deputy PM Ishaq Dar, Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch, and Pakistan’s Ambassador to Poland, Sami Malik, in attendance.

Highlighting Pakistan’s ambition to supercharge bilateral ties, Shehbaz underscored opportunities in trade, energy, defence, education, and labour. He praised Poland’s impressive industrial growth since the 1970s and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to diplomacy, international law, and regional stability.

Poland’s Deputy Prime Minister Radoslaw Sikorski expressed keen interest in deepening ties, revealing that Polish investment in Pakistan’s petrochemical sector has already crossed the $500 million mark. He also pointed to Poland’s expertise in water treatment as a potential game-changer for Pakistan.

Two sides discussed pressing global issues, from Middle East peace efforts to the Ukraine crisis, while agreeing to boost cooperation and strengthen longstanding bilateral relations. PM Shehbaz also personally invited Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk to visit Pakistan, promising a warm welcome.

Earlier, Sikorski held detailed talks with Ishaq Dar at the Foreign Office, signed two MoUs, and engaged with Islamabad’s think tanks, signaling a new era of Poland-Pakistan collaboration.
