ISLAMABAD – Pakistan and Belarus taken another step toward strengthening their defence partnership as a high-level Belarusian military delegation held important talks with Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf at Naval Headquarters in Islamabad.
The delegation was led by Chief of the General Staff and First Deputy Defence Minister of Belarus, Major General Pavel Muraveiko, who met the Naval Chief to discuss regional security, defence cooperation and other matters of shared strategic interest.
During the meeting, Admiral Naveed Ashraf reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing its relationship with Belarus, saying Islamabad attaches great importance to bilateral ties and seeks to build a long-term, multidimensional partnership with the European nation.
The discussions focused on expanding defence collaboration and exploring new avenues for military cooperation as both countries continue to strengthen engagement in the security sector.
Major General Pavel Muraveiko praised the Pakistan Navy’s professionalism and acknowledged its role in promoting regional maritime security. He appreciated the Navy’s continued efforts to safeguard stability in the maritime domain and enhance cooperative security initiatives.
The two sides agreed to further broaden the scope of their existing defence relationship and deepen military collaboration through closer engagement, reflecting the growing momentum in Pakistan-Belarus defence ties.
