ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif assured all-out support to Saudi Arabia in an important call with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman as tensions in the Middle East deepens.
PM Sharif held a telephone conversation with Mohammed bin Salman to discuss regional developments and reaffirm the strong bilateral ties between the two nations. In a warm and friendly exchange, the premier extended heartfelt greetings to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and congratulated the Saudi leadership on the successful completion of Hajj 2025.
He expressed appreciation for the Kingdom’s generous hospitality toward Pakistani pilgrims. Sharif thanked Saudi leadership for its unwavering support to Pakistan during recent tensions with India. He reiterated Pakistan’s readiness for constructive engagement with India on all outstanding issues, including Jammu and Kashmir, water disputes, trade, and terrorism.
Two sides exchanged views on the escalating tensions in the Middle East, particularly the Iran-Israel conflict. Prime Minister Shehbaz expressed Pakistan’s strong support for immediate de-escalation and emphasized the need for resolving such crises through dialogue and diplomacy.
He underscored the importance of respecting international law and the UN Charter, particularly in light of recent attacks. Reaffirming Pakistan’s firm support for Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,
Prime Minister Shehbaz commended the Crown Prince’s leadership and diplomatic efforts aimed at promoting peace in the region. He lauded the Kingdom’s role as a global peacemaker and leader of the Muslim world.
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, in response, thanked the Prime Minister for his call and appreciated Pakistan’s message of solidarity. He acknowledged Pakistan’s constructive role in supporting a peaceful resolution to the Iran-Israel conflict and reiterated the Kingdom’s commitment to ensuring lasting peace and stability in the Middle East.
