Pak Army’s peacekeeper martyred in Central African Republic

Pakistan Army’s United Nations peacekeeper Havaldar Muhammad Shafiq was laid to rest in Mian Channu with full military honours on Thursday.

Havaldar Muhammad Shafiq of the Pakistan Army embraced Shahadat while serving in United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in the Central African Republic, said a statement issued by the ISPR.

Havaldar Muhammad Shafiq joined the UN Mission in February 2021. He was a brave and dedicated member of the Pakistani contingent ensuring the protection of civilians in CAR and facilitating the delivery of humanitarian assistance.

So far, 162 Pakistani peacekeepers have laid down their lives as part of the global mission for international peace and stability. Havaldar Muhammad Shafiq is survived by his wife and three sons, the ISPR statement added.
