In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, over two dozens were arrested as PhD scholars and dental surgeons held protest demonstrations in Sri-nagar and Jammu to highlight the issues faced by them in their corresponding fields.
A protest was organized by PhD Scholars Asso-ciation in Srinagar. The scholars working in col-leges and universities of the territory expressed disappointment over lack of comprehensive job policy, delay in the advertisement of Academic Arrangement notification for 2022.
“Meager salary is paid to us in violation of equal pay for equal work norm. Lack of full aca-demic session engagement, besides denial of winter, summer vacation pay is taking toll on us. We also decry using the nomenclature of Lecturer instead of Assistant Professor for Academic Arrangement teachers working in various degree colleges and universities of J&K,” they said.
Meanwhile, at least 35 dental doctors were de-tained after they staged a protest in Jammu in sup-port of their demand for jobs.
A protest demonstra-tion was also held by a number of dental surgeons in Srinagar.
They expressed their resentment over negligent attitude adopted by the regime towards their demands, by shouting anti-Government slo-gans. The protesters vowed to continue their agita-tion till their demand is met.—KMS
